The ribbon cable connector plugs into the bottom of the midi converter board and into the top of the scanner board as shown. Please make sure to follow this connection method since damage may occur if connected any other way. The second connector pin strip on certain scanner boards is for expansion. The stop numbers are shown above. The scanner board can be mounted on top of the midi converter board using the appropriate spacers. Please use static handling safety when working with these boards. The Midi Converter is the same board that is used for note but with some different components and software. The Midi Converter when used for stops midi conversion has several versions that are selected by 3 version select jumpers. The factory will pre-select the correct version for you. There are 3 Ahlborn Galanti Archive Module midi stop change messages, 1 Hauptwerk stop voice midi messages, 1 Hauptwerk stop couplers and tremulants midi messages, and 1 program change version for Giga Studio and most midi sound generators using program change messages for the stop or voice changes. These are suitable for pistons since the program change is only a single midi message which is unlike note on and note off.

The expression pedal inputs when this board is used for Stops, the expression pedal terminals are used for the DC 5 volt power and the 3rd bit of the version select. For the Hauptwerk stops select for voices, the midi channel select jumpers start with MIDI channel 8 (was midi channel 1) and ends with MIDI channel 15 (was midi channel 8) using the same jumper configuration.
