Depending on the mobile ham radio system and transmitter design, the custom FluxCap™ can be ordered with appropriate output voltage and current rating. As with the ham receiver or transceiver setup, the FluxCap for this application also maintains constant power regardless of input voltage from 11 to 15 volts DC. Below 11 volts input, the output tapers off in order to limit the current. FluxCaps can be installed in parallel for this application also provided the same output voltage is used. Many linear RF amplifier modules will achieve higher power output with increased input voltage. |

In this application, the FluxCap™ maintains constant power regardless of input voltage from 11 to 15 volts DC. Below 11 volts input, the output tapers off in order to limit the current. In mobile systems, the input voltage depends mostly on the alternator output since the battery float voltage varies with state of charge and the temperature. Since the FluxCap is a two phase power supply, it is compact, efficient, and has a smooth output. FluxCaps can be installed in parallel for more current output. |
