Charlie did much better for almost 3 years with no further problems since having his radiation treatments thanks to his friends at CSU and a lot of prayer and a change of diet to a cancer fighting regime of special foods and vitamins etc. His facial hair (that he lost during radiation) had grown back and his eyes recovered from the radiation also. Then in December of 2004 his nose started bleeding and there was quite a bit of sneezing again as in the beginning. CSU performed CT scan and discovered that the original right side of the tumor had calcified (good) but had grown over to the left side behind his left eye and more growth in the rear nasal passages. The growth behind the left eye was pressing on the brain and pushing the eye outward somewhat. CSU gave him a quicker / more potent doses of radiation in the new area but did not give him more than a few months to live. We had been researching alternative cancer treatments and discovered the work by a Nobel prize winner (early 20th century) where the cancer environment was documented and in February of 2005 we started giving Charlie transdermal cesium with oral rubidium, germanium, and oxygen carrying electrolytes in order to increase the oxygen levels in the tumor cells. This would slightly swell the tumor and surrounding tissue and hopefully destroy the tumor. We will never know if this treatment would have worked because Charlie had a seizure on March 22, 2005 at 12:10 am from the pressure of the tumor on his brain. We had him euthanized at 12:26 am exactly 8 years from the date of bringing him into our lives.
